Farewell, Juice.  You were one of the coolest kitties, ever.  You will be missed by all, but most of all by my daughter.  You were her best friend, and I can't thank you enough.

This is me, still ripping my hair out.  Hard news from the underwriters of the construction loan today... in that we might not be able to get approved on that end.  This is all difficult to swallow, since the permanent mortgage is already in place.  The construction loan agent was supposed to call me back tonight with a definitive answer from the powers that be, but nothing yet.  I'm going to be agonizing on this all night.

I just purchased two tickets to see Ani DiFranco on 06.24. WooHoo!!  I'm going to take Gabrielle with me.  It will be her first concert.  I'm not sure how into Ani she is, but I didn't want to go by myself.  TeeHee.

Finally posting all the pictures from Decision Trip 2008 into Flickr.  Now that I look at everything together, I'm worried about how light the hardwood floors are going to be next to the dark cherry of the cabinets.  We opted for solid granite counter-tops and I'm wondering if we should do granite tile instead and put the money saved into some better flooring.  I'm calling the contractor to let him know about the indecisions.  The loan still isn't finalized yet, and nothing has been purchased....so it isn't a huge deal.  It does mean another trip, though, to pick out something else.  Not that I wasn't planning another trip anyway.  :-/  Meanwhile, the loan should be 'approved' by the end of this week and we should be able to make our first draw by the end of next week.  Everything seems to be moving so fast, and yet so darn slow.

I'm back home from the trip out to Missouri.  Lots of choices were made in reference to cabinets, hardware, flooring, siding, shingles, etc ... and I am just drained.  Will post pictures on flickr.com soon with all the finalists.  In the meantime, Greg is home for the weekend and the boys are here ... what lovely chaos.  I'm off to enjoy it.

Leaving on Sunday to take a trip out to Missouri.  Trying to pack and get things settled prior, but my loan lady is not cooperating.  This being my first loan, I'm not sure if this is the norm or not ... but she keeps saying she'll have something to me by 'tonight' 'tomorrow morning' 'this afternoon' and so far, nothing.  She also seems put out whenever I call her.  I'm not sure if I'm hounding too much or not enough!  Meanwhile, the contractor is eager to take me all over Lebanon to have me pick out all the ins and outs for the house ... that way when everything DOES go through, he'll be ready to go.  Just wish I knew more about the loan process, and whether or not delays like this were just a part of it all.

My father's sister, my Aunt Marlis, passed away today after a short battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS).  My father is very torn up over it, not having had a chance to say goodbye.  He can't fly to Wisconsin for the services due to an inner ear problem that he's been battling for months.  I only met Aunt Marlys a few times, but remember her to be a pretty cool lady.  I'm upset for my Dad's loss ... and for the loss of a family member that I never got a chance to really know.

Got the paperwork turned into Mortgage broker.  Gah!!  Meanwhile, also got a flight booked to Missouri on 06.01.08 to pick out floor, siding, cabinets, fixtures, etc with the builder.  I'm very nervous and excited at the same time.  This is me, pulling my hair out.  I'm hoping I didn't jump the gun a little by booking the flight before we have a solid loan plan in place.

Spec Sheet, floor plan, and materials are all finalized.  Running all the gathered paperwork to the bank tomorrow to get hopping on the loan end.  I see the light at the end of the tunnel!
